Founder, Brenda First is a Black Sect Tibetan Tantric Buddhist
(Black Hat) Feng Shui Master. She performs residence and
business Feng Shui consultations and specializes in the use of
orchids as Feng Shui enhancements in the home, office and
garden.. Brenda, as the founder and president of The Orchid
Lady, for two decades has been creating environments for her
clients to thrive in through the beauty, aroma and placement
of orchids and other exotic plants.
Brenda’s life long
study of Eastern Philosophy, which forms the basis of Feng
Shui, has resulted in her various studies and experiences: She
holds a Sociology degree from the University of California,
Sonoma; Master in Black Hat Feng Shui as taught by Grandmaster
Professor Thomas Lin Yun, the founder of Berkeley, California
Yun Lin Temple. She has received her advanced certification
and traveled in China with internationally recognized
instructors and consultants Helen and James Jay at Feng Shui
Designs, Inc., as well as, an in depth study of Tse Lao
philosophy.
Brenda’s understanding of human nature,
which is integral to the tenets of Feng Shui philosophy have
been further enhanced through her work at the Hermes
Foundation in Malibu, California, “a non profit organization
aimed at promoting the evolution and growth of the individual
and community through lectures and workshops in an effort to
establish world peace”
Her background of study includes
workshops and lectures with M. Scott Peck, M.D., Author of
"The Road Less Traveled"; "Love, Traditional Values &
Spiritual Growth" as well as with Jean Shinoda Bolen, M.D.
author of "Synchronicity and the Tao"; "The Goddesses in Every
Woman" and "The Gods in Every Man". Brenda practices Vapassana
Meditation and Hatha yoga.
Brenda’s unique strengths,
insights and experience make her a successful, intuitive
teacher of Feng Shui concepts and their applications. Her deep
understanding of the underlying dynamic of object placement in
Feng Shui practice allows her to approach clients on a
case-by-case basis, helping to enhance their lives by creating
harmonious environments ideally suited to their individual
